Summary:
When I began moth trapping at Meadow Farm in May this year, I really didn’t know what I might expect to find. The richness of the meadows made me hopeful that there would be a thriving community of moths at the site and indeed that has proved to be the case!

College Lake Island Cutting

Summary:
With approximately a third of Buckinghamshire’s Lapwing and Redshank, the marshes of College Lake have become a very important habitat for waders. A key part of these marshes are the various islands in the middle. These provide both safe nesting sites that deter most terrestrial predators and have shallow muddy margins that contain a variety of invertebrates for feeding on.

Summary:
As jobs go, working for a Wildlife Trust must be one of the most rewarding, but inevitably there are times when deskwork piles up and the natural world is consigned to be glimpsed only through the office window. Once in a while though there are moments that cut through all that, and reaching the target in a land acquisition appeal is one of those moments.
